Hello all, a somewhat new member here on the boards. I require your professional replying powers for a project in math class. After hearing the idea of a friend I felt like I would rip it off and make a survery of types on my own. I also offer my word that that all information will be kept confidential and I only need replies and answers to your posts. Now for my questions:

What is your favorite character class of the Dungeons and Dragons core classes?

What is your Dungeons and Dragons core race to play?

How long have you been playing Dungeons and Dragons?

Thank you all for your time and I am posting on several different forums to maximize data collection output as well.

Psion, if that doesn't work, then rogue. I like the unusual.

I'm going to have to say my favorite core class is the Sorcerer.
I find I'm just naturally drawn to making characters who are humans.
About one and a half years, I think...

Monk.
Human or elf. Not half-elf. Githzerai or Thri-keen would be first, if not for the little core race thing.
Damn, this is the hardest... about four-six years as a complete know-nothing, but playing icewind dale I-II.
Two years as a normal person again,
Then about three months as a D&D fanatic... Yeah...

How long have you been playing Dungeons and Dragons?

1. if by "core" you mean base class than either incarnate or psychic warrior, if you mean straight out of the PHB, I've played more clerics than anything else(I won't lie, I am a bit of a munchkin) though flavor-wise I like rogue and ranger as much/more....then again, considering you can really flavor cleric however you want, I think I'll go with cleric :D

2. as far as the core races, I think I'd have to stick with human, as everything else is a bit too cliche' for me. if you care, though, eberron is turning that around(and if I can choose from eberron, I'll go with Warforged over humans) and secondly, I'd like half-elves a lot more if they weren't so bad mechanically

3. whoa....uhh....since I was twelve or thirteen, I'm not sure.....but that's eleven or twelve years

Gotta love 'em Hexblades. If only core, then it's the Sorcerer.
Always human. Humans are superior. Always.
About 3 years.

1) I prefer wizards.
2) I generally play humans
3) I've been playing DnD on my birthday in August '79, so that's almost 27 years (damn I starting to feel a little old)

Data Gathering, as long as it is impersonal (does not put self or others at risk), should be allowed on the boards. I don't know why it isn't and an explanation would be nice, since I know a Wizo will jump on this within the next hour.

Wizards - they're the most flexible class, as you can literally change your abilities every day.

I like rangers, but I'm a bigger fan of non-magic rangers.

My favorite core race is human, but ironically they don't make wizards as good as, say, halflings or especially gnomes. (The gnome has the combo of +2 Con and Small size.)
