i must ask.
Would it be unfair or unbalenced if i were to make a variant wizard witht eh folowwing modifications:
Would be able to Turn/Rebuke undead as a cleric of his level, but unable to have a familiar
Instead of gaining bonus feats, at fifth level he would gain a spirit companion. This ghost would not have any of the special attacks normally inherited with being a ghost, but would be able to attack non-etherreal targets.
Im trying to create a more spirit oriented necromancer rahter then an undead oriented one.

Honestly, my friend tried something like this, and found that it was way too much of a hassle and decided a cleric would be better. But for me, i wouldn't allow it, but it seems okay i guess.
