Kaspart 02-05-06, 10:45 AM	Some prestige classes have ability score dependant requisite. for example: Bladesinger(Complete warrior)=Dodge ;Dervish(Complete warrior)=Combat Expertize Then i saw Rules of the Game "Polymorphing (Part 3)" It says "A change in ability scores might render some of the subject's feats unusable. If a feat has an ability score prerequisite that the subject no longer meets, the subject still has the feat, but cannot use it so long as the prerequisite is not met. If the subject has a prestige class that depends on an unusable feat, the subject cannot use any features of the class but retains any Hit Dice, base attack, and base save bonuses from the class and also retains weapon and armor proficiencies from the class." It means lowerd ability scores(Damage,Drain,Overload,etc) cause to lose Prestige class feature(Include spell casting ability). If my Dex 15 Bladesinger hit by Tanglefootbag (Dex-4),he lose spellcaster level and song. :( On the otherhand,Maxmized Ray of enfeeblement can easly stop Frenzied :P I wish this interpret is mistake by my poor English... ----- Kaspart Wolfenstein the Newbie wizard from Japan.
RaspK FOG 02-05-06, 11:43 AM	What you say is true; however, a DM may reasonably rule part of this out for one reason or another: for example, I could easily allow any of my players who has taken the Bladesinger still cast spells at his "normal" caster level even if he lost some points off Dexterity. Likewise, the rules as written (commonly abbreviated as RAW) still allow you to retain your base Fortitude, Reflex, and Will save bonuses, as well as you base attack bonus for levels in the prestige class.
Maraxus 02-05-06, 12:14 PM	Yes, your interpretation is good by RAW. However, how a dm uses this rule in his campaign is another thing. I think it's a bad rule, that needs to be thought of on a case-to-case basis. For example, I don't see, how lesser Dexterity hampers your spellcasting. For the bladesinger I would make the special ability requiremants: Bladesong Style: Dodge, Combat Expertise Lesser Spellsong: Combat Casting Song of Celerity: Combat Casting Greater Spellsong: Combat Casting Song of Furry: Dodge, Combat Expertise, Weapon Focus Spellcasting: Ability to cast arcane level 1 Spells But then again, I wouldn't really mind, if one would compleatly forget this.

So,thease rules makes more complex tracking for Prestige Classes ...it means hardly play Prestige Class. and "Polymorph cause lost Feats and Skill point by Fast learn(Human Rasial Trait)" FAQ is very RAW but manacle on human with Prestige Class. Uh. but I saw Reincarnate spell description. "It retains any class abilities,feats,or skill ranks formerly possessed." Race change (Instant effect) will not change feats, Polymorph change ( Temporaly effect ) change feats :confused: I will take Milo's suggestion. Permanently effect cause lost class abilities. If the ranger selects two-weapon combat, he is treated as having the Two-Weapon Fighting feat, even if he does not have the normal prerequisites for that feat. Prerequisites do not apply in this case.
