Shuang18 05-18-04, 12:37 AM	after a cursory glance of the boards i cant find an answer to this question. when in wildshape if a druid takes ability damage does this only affect the animal they are in or does it continue to hurt the base race after they wildshape back from animal form? more specifically if i were to take strength damage in animal form then shift back to human form do i still suffer the affects?
Thorak 05-18-04, 02:13 AM	The fact that you've taken ability damage of X doesn't change between forms, only your maximum. If you've normally got a con of 6, and Polymorph into something with a con of 18, and take 8 points of Con damage, you're running around with an effective 10 con. Until your Wildshape ends, at which point you immediately hit -2 and die. The animal form isn't an extra body, it's your same one transformed.

Its is stated in the description for the polymorph spell From the SRD Upon changing, the subject regains lost hit points as if it had rested for a night (though this healing does not restore temporary ability damage and provide other benefits of resting; and changing back does not heal the subject further). If slain, the subject reverts to its original form, though it remains dead.
