| vahju11-20-06, 12:43 PM | I just got the complete mage and noticed the Abjurant Champion prestige class. Its not bad for only five levels and looks like if combined with one level of Duelist you can get a decent AC. Dex bonus Int bonus (from Duelist) Armor spell (4 + Abjurant Champion level) Shield spell (4 + Abjurant Champion level) I also remember a feat from Dragon Magazine for specialist wizards (abjurer's) that also increase armor related spells by +2. If anyone knows the issue number that would be great. Is the bonus from the Duelist prestige class limited to only one bonus per Duelist level? Is so are there any other feats or classes that duplicate this? Does the version of Duelist in Sword & Fist have the same limitation? As far as the build goes I am thinking Human with the below level progression: Fighter 1-4 Specialist Wizard (Abjurer) 5-6 Abjurant Champion 7-8 Duelist 9 Abjurant Champion 10, 11, 12 Maybe finish up with Eldritch Knight. Most of the campaigns I play stop around 20 level. |

You could concievably also go with a sorcerous build and make it look something like Monk1/Paladin2/Sor4/AC5/EK9 (BAB+18, CL17th) with the use of the Ascetic Mage Feat from the Complete Adventurer. You would get Cha to saves and AC, but you wouldnt be able to wear armor. |
| unusualsuspect11-20-06, 06:17 PM | Nephlite: You just have to find the right armor-producing spell. Luminous Armor and its Greater version work perfectly, as it happens. |

Now that's a tremendous idea for a gish build! Not only do you have to be an exalted do-gooder (depending entirely upon your DM's good will & judgement), no, you also happen to damage your own Strength witch each casting! |
