The PrC from Complete Mage Has a problem, it is ment to be used with Mage Armor (The sample character even uses it) with it's Abjurant Armor ability, But Mage Armor is a Conjuration spell, NOT an Abjuration spell, so it can't work with that ability. Is there errata someplace for this? Please help.

Thank you in advaned for your time.

Wizards is notorious for not having its examples being entirely kosher.

The example is wrong.

Yeah, use the Luminous Armor series (BoED) instead. The example Master of Nine in ToB doesn't even qualify. :P

Or it is possible that the designer made a mistake and thought that mage armour was an abjuration spell. :P

Dang. so out of the core books, Shield is the only spell that will give a bigger, better armor bonus? Then I guess, if the DM will even allow the class, I'll go with a two handed weapon.

Human Fighter-1/Wizard-5/Eldritch Knight-1 so far, with hopes of Abjurant Champion, if I can find errata for it, and IF the DM will allow it (Core books pluse Faeun stuff, but I think I can talk him into it.)

Why do you need mage armor to do that any way? Shield is +9 at the end of abjurant champion, and greater mage armor is +6. That's a good deal for a FULL-CASTING PrC. Not to mention the other things they get. Besides, you're a wizard. Prepare a greater luminous armor when you can. Luminous armor now. Greater will get you a +13 AC. That's +5 full plate. Or grab +8 bracers, or twilight mythral chain.

NEVER, EVER go by the sample characters. If fact, you should completely ignore them. Fluff text too, it is also often times wrong.

I was hoping to apply it to both Shield and Mage Armor or at least to the armor with a Mithril Buckler. I don't have any idea where I can find Luminous Armor, and I don't think the DM would allow it (he may not even allow The Spell Compendium or even the class, but I hope he will), and he won't allow Twilight.

Wow. If your DM wouldn't allow Twilight (useless to all but a select few characters), i would consider finding another DM.

The two luminous armor spells are sanctified spells from the Book of Exalted Deeds. You won't need a buckler since you have Shield.

I suggest you pull the stick out of the other end of your DM and beat him over the head with it.....j/k.

Seriously though, why is he being so strict? Is he doing a core only game? That is a little understandable, but randomly disallowing stuff? Is he a new DM and worried that someone will come to the table with pun-pun?

No. He had an Uber Munchkin player for a while that made him shy away from non core books. I guess I don't need Abjurant Champ boosted Mage Armor.

A +1 Mithril or living metal buckler, Natural armor pendant, ring of protection, bracers of armor, Ioun stones, potions. Tons of ways to get my AC up. Heck, change from Human to something with a dex and wis bonus and taking a level of monk will get me a ton of AC.

If you are an abjurant champion, stay away from another shield +5 buckler is only +6. If you want the monk's AC bonus, you should have done monk 1 instead of fighter 1, and then take enlightened fist later (with kung fu genius (dragon compendium)).

Won't work in this game. Going to have to get there through the Eldritch Knight PrC in the DMG, and that takes a level of fighter. (or Barb, but I can't wrap my head around a Barb/Wiz.)

It just requires proficiency with all martial weapons. The thing about monk/enlightened fist is that you won't be taking any eldritch knight, because all your levels will be taken up with 1 monk, 4 wizard, 10 enlightened fist, 5 abjurant champion.

You could research a abjuration AC-giving spell, you know. I think the DMG even had rules for researching a new spell. It's not easy, mind you, and it costs a bit of gold, but it is possible.

But if the enlightened fist isn't in a core or Faerun book, the dm won't allow it (and my odds aren't good that he will even allow the Abjurant Champ, but I'm gonna try.)

It's in a Complete book, those are supposed to be similar enough. IIRC there have been references that many of the Hin Fist monks are Sacred Fists (CDivine), I think it was mentioned in Shining South. Likewise, the same book says that for the Pirates of the southern seas, the Dread Pirate PrC from CAdv should be applied with certain minimal changes. Of course, Enlightened Fists make sense only for certain monk orders - Shining Hand, Dark moon, and any others tied to deities of magic. Newer Realms material incorporates the complete books and other sources, so don't worry.
