Yes, I realize they do not have one per se, but I was wondering (if it has not already been done) if anyone has written up a list of spells that qualify for their abjuration-based special class abilities.

One of the only 1st level ones I could think of was shield. If anyone could reccomend the 'best' choices of abjuration spells based on any level, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Note: if this has already been done, just point me in the direction.

The only others that qualify at all are Repelling Shield in CM, and Luminous Armor and Greater Luminous Armor in BoED.

Nezram's Sapphire Screen of Shielding from Lost Empires of Faerun also applies...but a bit pointlessly.

IIRC, deflect and lesser deflect from the PHB2 also provide shield bonuses to AC (though I could be mistaken).

If you play an abjurant champion, in addition to your choice of shield and armor, you MUST take dispel magic and possibly also arcane turmoil (CMg). When your dispel magic spells are automatically quickened, jump for joy.

... jump for joy.

Dispel Magic becomes nigh useless at high levels...

You'd be surprised by how low the caster level on some of those critical magic items are.

Being able to turn one off a round can have nice advantages. Like turning off an enemy wizard's Headband of Intellect...

Sorry Sir, but no, I didn't miss it.

What good is to have a nigh useless spell auto-quickened at high levels?
I stand by my word, at high levels, this is a crappy ability - unless, of course, this should account for Greater Dispel Magic as well.

Its not useless, its use impared:) . Even so, auto-quickened (and lets not forget extended) Protection from Evil and Resist Energy are nothing to sneeze at.

A Quickened Dispel Magic followed up by a Twinned Dispel Magic ain't bad against a heavily enchanted BBEG.

Please note: I did not write useless, only nigh so. ;)
I'd consider the latter ones better at high levels.
Apart from that, the AC is a pretty good PrC, just in case somebody thought me questioning this.

sure, at 20th level it may be a little less useful, but this build is an optimized gish at around 11th level - right when dispel is at its peak.

Its great on a gish -> dispel their armor and beat 'em silly. I suggest you check how low the caster level of straight enhancement bonuses are - you aren't very likely to fail against that.

It also makes the atomic rune combo (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=10681003&postcount=321) a sinch to get off.

Logically enough given its name, Lessor Deflect gives you a deflection bonus; however, oddly, the 2nd level Deflect does indeed give you a sheild bonus (of 1/2 caster level), which makes Abjurant Champion's bonus applicable.

I have also been told (but have not confirmed) that Ectoplasmic Armor is another abjuration spell from the Spell Compendium that provides an armor bonus, although only vs incorporeal touch attacks.
