About the Swordsage's Discipline Focus [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-14-06, 01:39 PM I've got a question about the Swordsage and his Discipline Focus. At first level you can gain weapon focus with a discipline's specific weapons. Weapon Focus requires you to be proficiet in the weapons, but some of these weapons are exotic. Would this imply that you also gain profciency with the exotic weapons?

Like a two-weapon combat style ranger gaining the TWF feats even if he doesn't have the normally required Dexterity scores, I would assume that the Discipline Focus (Weapon Focus) is allowed to ignore the normal proficiency requirements. I suppose you would have to be a swordsage/monk to get full use out of the exotic weapons.
