But, if I have a Ninja/Swordsage character, do these bonuses stack? They seem to be unnamed bonuses, so they virtually could stack... -MikeT |

| Cainin11-27-06, 08:58 AM | If memory serves, the Swordsage only gets the bonus when in light armor. Therefore it wouldn't stack with any similar style of bonus gained through Monk (or Ninja) since their ability requires wearing no armor. |
| SiouLubb11-27-06, 09:06 AM | The Wisdom bonuses will not stack. Same as Monk and Ninja Wis bonuses to AC don't stack. The level based AC bonuses should stack. |
| Ghenesh11-27-06, 09:25 AM | What about the Saint Template from BoED? it gives you your Wisdom Mod as an AC Bonus, and it's unnamed too, does this bonus stack with Monk's? |
| MikeT11-27-06, 10:01 AM | If memory serves, the Swordsage only gets the bonus when in light armor. I always thought that the Swordsage could add the Wisdom bonus also when wearing no armor at all... Maybe I had misread it. Thank you for clarifying it! -MikeT |
| PoorHobo11-27-06, 11:22 AM | Whaaa? A wis bonus to AC is a named bonus to AC. Isn't that akin to saying an unamed morale bonus to hit? Your bouns to AC comes form the same source (wis) so unless otherwise indicated it wouldn't stack. In this case RAW happens to agree with RAI. They don't stack but if any DM doesn't allow a swordsage to not get their bonus just because they don't have light armor on, they're being a douche. |

I'mma double check. |
| kelvinaw27311-27-06, 01:27 PM | It makes sense to me that this class feature is variations on a theme, not a seperate advantage possessed by each class. If you are already gaining your wisdom bonus to your AC when you gain the feature from another class, it makes sense to me that you do not gain it twice. To argue that: If they didn't want them to stack, they'd probably say so. Can be countered with: If they intended you to be able to do so they would have said so. I mean, if you gain the ability to wear armour from two different classes, you do not get to wear two suits at once .... |
| aelryinth11-27-06, 03:52 PM | This was already answered on Ask Wizards. No, the two bonuses don't stack. They are a stat-derived unnamed bonus to AC, and effectively the same thing. If you go look at the Saint Template, you'll notice the Wis bonus to AC is an Insight bonus. IT would stack the same way a +5 Insight bonus to AC would. ==Aelryinth |
