Hey, I've always liked the concept of the adept class, its just too weak to fit in with the PC classes.
Thats why I made a "PC version" of the class for my campaign. NPCs still use the other version. Take a look and tell me what you think! :D

Interesting. I don't like "Focused Training", though -- one of the good things about 3.0e is the unified XP table for all classes.

So, instead, I suggest:
- Reduced XP cost for one (or more) type of Item Creation -- preferably Potions & expendible Wonderous Items, since they're very associated with Witches
- Extra powers like the Witch class in Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed -- in fact, that class is such a great Adept-replacement, you should really take a look at it for inspiration.
- Wildshape (for one limited animal type) or Wildsoul (Magic Jar, but only possess animals)
- Bestow Curse & Break Enchantment as class abilities
- 3/4 BAB (in place of 1/2, which is for bookish Wizards)

I think adepts are an almost playable class, they just need a few tweaks. Maybe they should get the bard's spell progression, light armor, average BAB, and one domain to make them playable.
