The role of a hero can not be made by Base class nor PrC because they are guild special classes. Here is something I want to fix in my game and that is take some existing PrCs and make them Advanced classes and make totally new PrCs that fit the Orders in my World. An Advanced class (AvC) is like a PrC with Requirements but can be taken any time that the PC makes the Requirements. An AvC is a specialized version of base classes or special paths that Base classes can practice. A PrC is a specialized class that you can take levels (if you meet the Requirements) in if you have membership of a specific Organization. Some Organizations could just be a grouping of AvCs. PrCs and AvCs are completely different. This thread I will post/make advanced classes. I will also post a list of Existing PrCs that are made into Advanced classes, Please feel free to add to the list or take away. If you think one PrC is right for an AvC please post why, what class, and what book its found in. I will NOT be posting my world specific PrCs as they will be posted on the Campaign builders Forum once I have created them all. Here is the list:

Here is the 2nd part of my Class system. This will be about Substitution levels. Now Substitution levels also have requirements but some times not as high as PrCs or AvC (like you must only be a member of a race). But other times they need special things to happen like you must have been hit with a spell, died, killed a specific monster, and the like. Substitution level is a level of a class that if you meet the requirements you can take instead of taking a level in the normal class. These levels are used exactly as if there were the same class. Through out this thread I will be posting Substitution levels for races that specialize in the class or train in that class differently (like Elven rangers). Most of these Class levels will have 3 levels but some may have 4 or even 5.

So, your definition of advanced class differs from d20 Modern version of the advanced class.

No not much. The Advanced classes are a type of specific path that either one class with ranks in skills, special feats, or has levels in multiple classes to take. When they meet the Requirements they can take the level if they please with no need to be in a Organization. So in other words it is like a PrC that is not a part of a Guild and you don't have to be in that guild to take levels in it.

So, your advanced class can only be taken as early as 6th level, like PrC?

Some but some may need higher levels. The AvCs are a mix of PrC (because some PrCs have been turned into AvCs) and Modern's AvCs. I got this idea because some of the PrCs in books look a lot like more of a AvC instead of a Guild special class. So I have made those classes be takeble by PC without joining a guild. It is a specialized path or a more advanced version of 2 paths. Another idea I have is making Regional classes which are just like Base classes, but either have 10 levels or 20. You can take the Regional class anytime as long as you have come from that region. This is a new idea and I am still working the bugs out of this one. I will be posting the Elven Sub levels later this weekend.

Sorry the Elven Wizard took so long. It is up now. Any comments on it would be nice. I will be making the Elven Sorcerer next.
