| Cantankerous One01-01-04, 01:25 AM | I currently have three adventure ideas. Feedback would be widely appreciated. Thanks in advance. :) --- The PCs are travelling through the wilderness (right now in an old forest). At dusk, they come upon a fellow adventurer, huddled nearby a campfire. While it is apparent that he is not injured, he is clearly very weak. Also, he is wearing a pair of distinctive golden bracers. This adventurer (we'll call him Soveliss) is traveling through the forest for a good reason. About a week ago, he came upon a pair of wonderful-looking bracers. While he didn't know it, the bracers were cursed: a pair of Bracers of Defenselessness. He is now currently very weak due to the bracers, as well as an encounter with a monstrous spider, which left him very weak (we'll say 4 Str). Now, since Soveliss is a Ranger, he is in no state to fight (he isn't a very good shot with the bow either). However, he came to the forest knowing that it was filled with various tombs - some of Wizards, some of Monks, others of supernatural creatures. He hoped to find a Remove Curse scroll, and find a spellcaster in a nearby town to free him from his bracers (no one in the surrounding towns is of high enough level to cast Remove Curse). Soveliss knows that there is a small tomb about half an hour from the campfire. He implores the PCs to explore it. The tomb is a normal dungeon (not really important here), and at the end, the PCs find a pair of Remove Curse scrolls. Soveliss is level 3. The PCs are level 4. The reward is whatever there is in the dungeon, as well as the small sum of gold Soveliss can offer. Soveliss does not discard the bracers. Rather, he knows of an eccentric old person named Mumbleweather who collects cursed items. Soveliss figures he can sell the bracers for an adequate price. Comments? Critique? (One person in the party is a Wizard; I feel that he should be lucky enough to succeed with the spellcasting from Remove Curse). |
