| Magrus12-29-06, 07:35 PM | I caught a thread detailing the use of Ninjas and Scouts in a homebrew campaign and it made me think that using a Ninja as an NPC in a campaign I am running would be good as a support character and guide for my players. I toyed around with some ideas, and I found the thought of having a character that was incredibly mobile being very good for this, the main reason I liked the Ninja class. Now, the Thri-kreen race, I thought of ditching the Psi-like abilities and lowering the LA by 1, to make it an ECL 3 race rather than 4. This would be due to the natural +30 to jump, which would make the leaping abilities of a ninja incredibly insane. Yet, I am not sure on taking the race. Any race would be fine to be honest given the plot of the campaign. The 3 levels off of Ninja would detract from the class abilities, but it might pay off with the gains. So, I am curious, any suggestions in a Ninja build that focuses on things like Jump, Climb, high speed and the ability to play a support role as an NPC for my players? Something that might be useful in pulling them out of a really bad situation, as I tend to give my players really hard challenges for high rewards occassionally. A listing of suggested feats would be helpful too. I have a majority of the books published, but I am kind of looking for an alternative viewpoint of something I might not have thought of yet. |
