my dm is allowing for a slightly high 30 point buy, i am considering making:
human
1 lvl monk
str:14
dex:14
con:14
int:12
wis:12
cha:12

why does wisdom get jipped? because i plan to wear a chainshirt and mw bucklers :), why not stat dump int and cha? roleplay purposes, only reason for being a monk is the flurry ability and saves, I plan on picking up the feat where a longspear can be used in flurry and dump all my points into str as i lvl but the one question that burns me is can flurry be used armored if not moving on....

If you want flurry, then dump the armor. For a monk, wearing armor inhibits the bonus to movement, flurry and the AC bonus.

Of course, you can always convince your DM otherwise...

For example, I have a DM particularly well known in our area for messing with game balance issues. He allows monks to wear anything that classifies as light armor and retain abilities. He makes Elven leafweave make armor count as a class lighter, and stacks with Mythril. Hi Mythril Leafweave Full Plate +5 on a monk. >_>
