Hey board. I did a search for this and didn't find much except for one post by remembervl that didn't have too much information... That was a good start, but not quite what I'm looking for.

I'm wondering if there are any sources or homebrews out there that use an Alchemist as a core class.

When I'm talking alchemy, I'm thinking about "The Alchemist" by Coelho, where the alchemist isn't just about transmuting things to gold or making potions...that's part of it, but those things are ways the alchemist learns to master all sides of himself, physically and spiritually. Turning stuff to gold isn't about having more gold, but about unlocking the greater secrets of the universe if that makes any sense. Kind of like the way the Magician in Tarot is like the next step in the Fool's development, gaining mastery of his environment and self by learning to control the 4 elements reflected in the 4 tarot suits (cups=water, swords=air, etc).

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Eltheynn

There's one in AEG's Swashbuckling Adventures CS. You may want to tweak weapon proficiencies if you're sticking with a medieval setting, but it's pretty good.
