Personally, Boccob's clergy running about in ammunition plate with kite sheilds is just...WRONG!!! Vecna should grant his a hand up dealing with undead (heh heh). My concept of Silestra(?), the Drow goddess of dance, just doesn't work with Tap dancing priests in plate. Am I wrong to want something better, or just a loon, Clerics are fine as is? |

If that means giving a person who worships the deity of secrets armor that without enhancment is nigh impossible to sneak about in, so be it. On the other hand, I get where you are coming from and feel that the "tank" nature of clerics, deity aside, robs them of flavor. You could re-tool them with skill based on deity or domains(PHB helps with that already), or you could trade out heavy armor proficiency for an extra domain or skill points, or something else like that. |

Favored Soul fits what you mean better. Cleric are all trained the same. Favored Souls differ (by spell selection, weapon focus, etc). |
| Lyle_Tealeaf04-21-07, 09:53 PM | I totally agree. Clerics of Nerull and clerics of Pelor should have completely different fighting styles, and the rules don't really support that (apart from the fact one turns undead and the other rebukes them.) However, overlooking any of the flavour aspects of the game, clerics need as much armor as they can get so that they can be in the front lines, ready to heal the party fighter. A tap dancing cleric without armor is all well and good, until he/she needs to wade through melee combatants to heal the barbarian. |
