alternate magic classes - a question [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-13-06, 08:52 AM For classes like those from the Tome of Magic and Magic of the Incarnum, do any PrCs from other sources help with their "caster levels"? If so, could you point out any reference to such a rule?

12-13-06, 10:27 AM The only one of the classes out of there where it helps is the Shadowcaster, which can use some PrCs. The page number for it is a sidebar, right around the Shadowcaster class description.

None of the others use normal PrC advancement, and Truenaming has none at all that increase the base class.

That kind of stinks. Limits their usefulness quite a bit.

12-13-06, 10:39 AM Magic of Incarnum characters get a slight benefit from the Faiths of Eberron prestige (for Blood of Vol) called Thief of Lives. Some of the prestige abilities grant you free temporary essentia pts.
