| krocha07-01-05, 01:53 PM | Anyone have suggestions for an alternate name for the Swashbuckler class. I'm looking for a fighter class to attribute to a community of Wood Elves who favor that type fighting style (i.e. Finesse and Agility) without the "flair" of the Swashbuckler as written. For game mechanics I'll be using the Swashbuckler from the CA with Racial Substitution Levels but it just doesn't seem right calling the class a Swashbuckler after doing so. So far the only thing which comes to mind is Skirmisher. Thanks for the help... |

With his friends Knight of the holy toe (Paladin), Knight of the broadsword(Fighter), Knight of the two Swords (Ranger), Knight of the Post (Rogue) and the knight of oh so scary oh so hidden fist. Or Charlatan. That would be fitting in the least (actually more so with a higher charisma focus.) |

| Jonnadiah07-01-05, 04:45 PM | Well, it's refered to as the Duelist in the DMG v1 Fencer is a good suggestion, but really, that's it. There aren't too many words synonomous with thin, pointy-sword user. |

Corix (French) Fencers against Valuzuvan (Spanish) Peacocks against Eali (Italian) Bravos against Daenish (British) Swashbucklers against Halvyri (half-elven) Duelists. Different schools, different styles of the blades. Monte Cook just calls them all 'unfettereds', but thats far more inclusive of all finesse fighters. ==Aelryinth |
