| IceFractal09-28-04, 12:08 AM | I'm planning on playing an Alchemist, that instead of spells uses alchemical mixtures produced from their own body (mechanically a Wizard, just with different flavor). I was going to use a couple of rules variations in this and wanted opinions on them. 1) I was going to replace verbal components with extra alchemical material components. How much should these components cost and how difficult should they be to make? 2) I wouldn't have a familiar, and wanted to know what would be a balanced replacement for it. First, since familiars typically grant +3 to a skill I was going to have +3 to Craft(alchemy) instead, but familiars give various other benefits at different levels and I'm wondering what's a good fit to use instead: bonus feats? skill boni? bonuses to crafting alchemical items? |
