Alternative Bard Class features [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-17-07, 07:38 PM I'm looking for a replacement for the suggestion ability bards get at 6th level. I traded Fascinate for Healing Hymn, and Since I'm going prestige class the save DC won't be that great anyway. Any ideas? On a completely unrelated note, could someone get me a link to the Cityscape Excerpts.

08-17-07, 08:15 PM Hmm, I love bards! I am currently working on a spell casting oriented bard with a Lyric Thaumaturge PrC. Since you replaced suggestion with Healing Hymn I am assuming that you are going for a healing and support oriented bard. In that case you should look at the Virtuoso PrC in the book “Song and Silence” (it is a guide for bards and rogues). Even if you don’t take the PrC it may have an ability that you could swap out for suggestion like you mentioned.

It is part of the cost for Healing Hymm (as is Mass Suggestion).

It is? Didn't see that.

Although, I'm actually going into lyric thamathruge. I just didn't see a use for fascinate. Also, Virtuoso was recycled in Complete Adventurer. And no, Song and Silence does not have alternate class features. A WHOLE lot of instruments, though.
