| Blairconz07-24-05, 05:23 AM | Well, I've heard many people say the fighter is just a little to generic or underpowered so I've come up with the following changes for the fighter. This is for the next campaign I'm going to run so I will need help to balance 1. Remove the following skills from the fighter's skill list: Ride, Intimidate 2. Remove the automatic heavy armour proficiency 3. Remove the bonus feat progression. 3. At the first and every second level, the fight can choose a Combat Mastery from the following list if they meet the prerequisites. Combat masteries can only be chosen once unless otherwise stated. Weapon Mastery Preq: Weapon focus (Any), Int 13+ Benefits: Select a weapon that you have weapon focus for, At 4th level you gain the weapon specialization feat with the selected weapon as a bonus feat At 8th level you gain the greater weapon focus feat with the selected weapon as a bonus feat At 12th level you gain the greater weapon specialization feat with the selected weapon as a bonus feat Greater Weapon Mastery Preq: Bab 12+, Weapon Mastery Benefits: You may add 1 to the threat range of a weapon of your choice that you have Weapon Mastery for At 16th level you may add one to the critical modifier of the selected weapon Mastery of Versatility Preq: Int 13+ Benefit: You may add 2 Skills of your choice to your skill list Mastery of Mounted Warfare Preq: Mounted combat, Ride 4 ranks Benefits: You gain a +1 Attack bonus while mounted. You gain a +4 bonus on your ride check to see if you can attack when your mount attacks and when using mounted combat. At 4th level You gain at +2 damage bonus while mounted. Mastery of Knightly Conduct Preq: Cha 13+, Lawful, Non Evil alignment Benefit: You may add Ride and Diplomacy to your list of class skills. You gain Heavy Armour Proficiency as a bonus feat. Mastery of Specialized Knowledge Preq: None Benefit: You gain a bonus feat of your choice that you qualify for. Special: You may take this mastery upto three imes, each time you must select a different feat. Mastery of Quick handed fighting Preq: Dex 13+, Int 13+ Benefits: You gain Weapon finesse as a bonus feat. If you have the Quickdraw feat, you no longer provoke attacks of oppotunity when you draw a weapon. Thats all for now, as I have said, any suggestions and comments would be appreciated greatly. |

| GEEKAZOID07-24-05, 10:39 AM | I don't see why weapon mastery requires a 13 int. I don't think one needs to be smart in order to be good with a weapon. Also, in a game of low powered ability scores, high int may take away from other stats. |
| Blairconz07-30-05, 10:40 PM | Too Bohica: Thank you for your encouragement, I have seen the Ultimate Fighter, but it is not for me. Too GEEKAZOID: This is a powerful mastery, I thought a Int preq. would balance it, plus it represents a sound knowledge of a weapon, something only an intelligent character has. That said, thank you for the feed back. Now for the next batch of Masteries Mastery of Swift Striking Preq: Improved Initiative, Dex 15+, Weapon Focus (Any one-handed weapon) Benefits: You gain an additional attack at your highest Base attack bonus when using the full attack action with any One-handed weapon that you have weapon focus with, as long as you have nothing in your off hand (Not including natural attacks or Unarmed strikes). However, this and all other attacks this round suffer a -2 penalty. If you have Weapon Mastery with the weapon, you gain a second bonus attack at 6th level at your second highest attack bonus. Mastery of Cleaving Preq: Great Cleave, Str 15+, Bab 8+ Benefits: You gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls when you drop an opponent. This Bonus applies only to the next atttack you make this round. This bonus increases by 1 for each foe you have dropped this round. Greater Mastery of Cleaving Preq: Mastery of Cleaving, Bab 12+ Benefits: You gain a +4 bonus on damage rolls when you drop an opponent. This Bonus applies only to the next atttack you make this round. This bonus increases by 2 for each foe you have dropped this round. Mastery of Magical Defenses Preq: Spellcraft 3 Ranks Benefits: You gain a +2 bonus on saving throws against magic At 8th level this bonus Increases to +4 Please, feel free to suggest your own ideas, but be prepared for me to adapt upon them. If I use an idea that you have thought of, I will give you full credit. |
| GEEKAZOID07-30-05, 11:40 PM | Mastery of Knightly Conduct Preq: Cha 13+, Lawful, Non Evil alignment Benefit: You may add Ride and Diplomacy to your list of class skills. You gain Heavy Armour Proficiency as a bonus feat. I don't think being evil precludes knightly conduct. There are a multitude of chivalrous bastards out there. Like the time when the Red Baron chose not to shoot Snoopy out of the sky when he had him in his sights simply because he heard the Christmas bells from the village below. Now that's honorable. I like what you've got going here. Keep it up, I think I'll use these ideas. |
| Blairconz07-30-05, 11:55 PM | Many thanks, GEEKAZOID, consider yours to be the first idea I take on board Revision: Mastery of Knightly Conduct Remove non evil alignment from the Preqs. |
| GEEKAZOID07-31-05, 01:08 AM | O-YEAH:ayyyy!: I ROCK :evillaugh |
