I like the Monk class, it is one of my favorites, but it just doesn't fit into the flavor I am creating for a new campaign world, its too 'mystic Asian mum-bo jum-bo', if you know what I mean.
What I am looking for is if there are any other base classes out there that fill the role of 'Unarmored martial Artist'. I love the flavor of a Martial Artist fighter, but I want one with our the mystical powers like quiveringpalm and slowfall and the like.

thanks in advance for any help.

The Swordsage (Tome of Battle) has an unarmoured&unarmed variant. SSage already gets maneuvers for all the flashy stuff, and WIS to AC. The variant gives you a Monk's unarmed damage progression. The only real thing you might miss is Ki Strike (Though you could always just try using Supernatural maneuvers against DR/magic people)

I know I'm going to catch a lot of flak for this, but if it was me, I would just build a fighter for unarmed combat. But I'm just stupid like that.

well, the two things I was considering to do, if I could not find a suitable alternative class anywhere, would be to either make my own, or to make a line of unarmed feats that a fight could take, removing the 'monk' type class altogether.

For disciplines, I'd say focus on Setting Sun. It has all sorts of fancy throws and stuff. If you don't want supernatural stuff, stay away from Desert Wind. Shadow Hand is also blatantly magical, but has some interesting, mundane stuff. (Like a stance that grants Sneak Attack)
