| ussie06-27-04, 07:49 AM | I got an idea and you can add or discard this cos i didnt read the entire thread but loved what u wrote how abt introducing a spell casting class like the NPC character class ADEPT with some changes to it, as a divine spell casters who tap into the resonating powers of Europa (i mean if there was a divine war there might be some lingering touches) . Or introduce Mystics (Forgotten realms) with some changes. im currently building some divine spell casting classes which dont pray to gods, so lemme know what u think when i post them ciao:) |
| Evil_Narrateur06-28-04, 06:50 PM | I have nothing against Divine Spellcasters not required to worship to gain their spells, but realise that they should at least have a limited spell list. It would be weird for the local accountant to resurrect people. Before I suggest anything, I have the following questions : 1. Why giving them Divine Spells instead of Arcana? 2. What role would they play in your game? |
| ussie06-29-04, 02:26 AM | well initially it was for another campaign setting with no gods but then i thought might as well use the idea in my own setting which im making right now. well now comes the reasoning for it: 1) i liked the adept spell list and im probably gonna buff it up slightly more with a few more feats here and there thrown in when and if i make it a player class. I thougth about adding a ghost as a familiar (toned down in power) and maybe throw in a cool ability here or there like remove disease or some druid rip offs. Basically i like the odd mix of divine/arcane spells the adept has and i like the divine spell casting aspect because 1) no arcane spell failure 2)flavour i wanted the adept to tap into Spirits as a means of spell casting as opposed to gods or arcana. 2)which leads to my second point, or your question, I wanted some sort of spell casters in my world which were very different from the established forms of spell casting. The adept like class will be spirit spell casters who tend to be in places which are war torn, using the spirits of the dead to help communities. its still in the process. thanks for the time buddy, and hey hopefully with your input ill actuallly make a class out of this idea. ussie:angel: |

They believed in unseen forces, but don't preach all that much. The shamans' powers come from knowledge. He knows how the world works. |
