I will be playing an ECL 27 character with a very critical secret. In a Forgotten Realms campaign, he is the last priest of Myrkul whom the dead god answers. There is a very good reason for this - he carries the seed of the dead god, much like Iyachtu Xvim carrying the seed of his father Bane.

So it is vitally important that the character avoids attracting attention or making enemies. And I really want to play the character as a priest. So the question is how to make it through life without drawing the attention of one of the many groups or deities who would not want Myrkul to return? He can not act overtly as a priest of Myrkul. And as a ECL 27 character (probably Fiendish elven priest 25th level) it is hard for him to exist in the world without being noticed. He is not a novitiate priest or apprentice wizard whom nobody notices. Though I haven't explicitly asked the question, seldom are game worlds so full of high level characters that they can go completely unnoticed.

The rules never really go into any detail about clerics who worship more than one deity (except for a couple pantheons where paying homage to many gods is normal). Mask is the God of Secrets and Deceptions. I wonder if Mask would mind being publically worshipped and invoked by my character? It follows with Mask's portfolio, and of all the evil gods, I believe mask would be the least threatened by the return of the former God of Death. If anything it would weaken Cyric, whose portfolio includes not only death, but also lies. Lies should be in Mask's portfolio.

These are all idle ramblings. I am really trying to figure out the answers to my problem of concealing my role as carrying Myrkul's seed, because I can't really work on my character's background without having the solution to this problem.

All help and ideas will be most welcome.

Thanks.
