| Tyranok07-07-07, 12:54 PM | In a recent thread I had about the character I plan to play in an upcoming campaign. It's an Elven Sorcerer and I wanted him to be fire based. Now Wrong made the following post. "Searing spell : +1 spell level, ignore fire resistance, still deal one-half fire damage against fire immune creatures. Dragonblood subtype needed to be able to lower some metamagic cost with practical metamagic (empower, maximize). Arcane thesis on a spell like Orb of Fire can be a good choice (apply searing spell for +0 spell level or lower a practical empower to +0 spell level…). Rapid Metamagic to be able to cast as a standard action, but do not take Quicken Spell, wait to learn Arcane Spellsurge (7th, Dragon magic). As a dragonblood sorcerer, you're able to cast Arcane Spellsurge as a swift action, allowing you to cast 2 spells/round for the rest of the encounter, far better than quicken. The more you have metamagic feat, the better it is (do not abuse of Practical Metamagic). Add the 5th sorcerer alternate level from Planar handbook to be able to deal half force damage with your fire spells…" I can't find searing spell in any of my books or anything online, likewise with the Dragonblood subtype. Dunno if Wrong will see this but any help or suggestions anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks! - Tyranok |
