Animal companion alternatives? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-01-07, 11:39 AM Is there a alternate druid class ability if I were to forgo having an animal companion? It is extra paperwork that I don't care for, and when there is already a large party, it can be even more time consuming in combat.

Any books out there that replace this class ability?

11-01-07, 11:57 AM There's the druidic avenger (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#druidVariant DruidicAvenger) from Unearthed Arcana. There's also the shapeshift alternative class feature in PHB2.

That's all I could find in a short search. Hopefully others will have more alternatives.

11-01-07, 04:08 PM Elemental Companion (CMag), Phynxkin Companion (Dragon Magic), Shapeshift (PHBII), and Storm Druid (Dragon Magazine) all replace Animal Companion, though the first two are just alternate types of companions.
