Animal Companion HD increase? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Does the HD increase for an Animal Companion (from Druid/Ranger etc levels) contribute towards size change/Feat and Skills acquisition.

On a related note, there is a feat in Complete Adventurer (Devoted Tracker) that lets you treat your special mount as your animal companion. In this case, HD boosts would stack. The HD is also of the same type of the creature -- d8 for animal, but if you happen to have a dragon, say, it'd be d12 and come with all the appropriate skill points and whatnot. See the Monster Manual for the exact statistics behind each type of hit dice.

Furthermore, if you take this to its logical conclusion, you end up with Supermount! (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=382372), which is a playable and extremely effective build (and on smaller scales as well).
