Animal Companions and other classes [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-13-06, 02:59 AM I want to make a barbarian with a pet wolf. Is that possable to have without taking levels in druid or ranger? Could i use a handle animal check to see if a wolf would be loyal to me? Or if i raised one would that work?

12-13-06, 03:06 AM Well you can train an animal, or take the Wild Cohort feat (Its on the site with an easy search)

The big penalty is it takes lots of time, the animals are often weak, and you have to use at best a move action to get it to do anything trained, full-round untrained.

Druid/Ranger animal companions are better, get minimal training free, and the actions are free and move, instead of move and full-round.
