Animal Growthing Druid's While in Elemental Form? [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-03-04, 01:18 AM So, you're a 20th level Druid.

You Wild Shape into an animal and then Wild Shape into a Huge elemental.

What type are you? Alter Self and Polymorph change your creature type.

With Elemental Wild Shape, however, the druid "retains her own creature type (humanoid, in most cases)".

Are you an animal? Can you Animal Growth yourself?

05-03-04, 04:32 AM You cannot have more than one wildshape active at the same time. Therefore when you use greater wild shape to become an elemental, you stop being an animal. If someone had used baleful polymorph to turn the druid into something then this might apply.

Even then i don't think so. "retains her (why is it always femenine?) own creature type" means the character's base creature type, not what type HE happens to be when HE is polymorphed.

To the first poster - There is absolutely nothing stopping you from Wild Shaping while Wild Shaped, unless you're in an AMF or are out of uses for the day.

To the second poster - That is the other interpretation, but I'm curious as to why they don't say "True Form" like they do in Alter Self to distingish between the two.

05-04-04, 02:15 PM I don't see why this wouldn't work.

You may fall afoul of the rule about inceasing your size. Different effects that increase size don't stack. I wouldn't rule that wildshape or polymorph is a size-effecting effect, but some people do (including the RPGA).
