It rewards a character with a high dexterity, but a high dex is one of the least likely ability scores an Anointed Knight would have. The book states that most common path to the PrC is Paladin, and given the Paladin's need for good Wis, Char and Str, how likely would a Paladin be to be able to use Combat Reflexes? Even a mulitclass fighter/arcane would prioritize dexterity very low. In fact of all of the backgrounds that are listed in the PrC bard is the only one that could reasonably be expected to have a good Dex. So unless you have a Charisma 18 (and how likely is a Paladin to have Char 18?) you are almost forced to take the Alertness power. Doesn't this just seem dumb to anyone else? |

With this feat, you may also make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed. Normal: A character without this feat can make only one attack of opportunity per round and can’t make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed. Special: The Combat Reflexes feat does not allow a rogue to use her opportunist ability more than once per round. A fighter may select Combat Reflexes as one of his fighter bonus feats. A monk may select Combat Reflexes as a bonus feat at 2nd level. Most of my Fighter types (heavy armoured) have a Dex of 12. This then would give them an add'l AoO. Even with a Dex of 10 (or less), you'd still get "With this feat, you may also make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed." And CR also leads to several other great feats like "Hold the Line" ( i think that's the name...where you get an AoO on any charging foes...). |

At your first anoit self you can have Holy sight which grants alertness. I think combat reflexes is a waste, so i would give my players another feat to choose from. If you are a player and want to play an Anoited knight then ask your dm to change it. |
