Please give constructive criticism, though i obviously cant do anything about other posters actions* "Alright, all I've got right now are my notes, but since I don't intend to write anything out formally, I might as well send them to you as is. After reviewing the Sorcerer class I realized Wizard really hadn't blotched it too bad, so all I did was make some minor changes. The changes are as follows. The concept of Mana Lvl -- Mana Pool 1 -- 11 2 -- 14 3 -- 16 4 -- 27 5 -- 30 6 -- 45 7 -- 52 8 -- 71 9 -- 80 10 -- 103 11 -- 114 12 -- 141 13 -- 154 14 -- 185 15 -- 200 16 -- 235 17 -- 252 18 -- 291 19 -- 310 20 -- 330 Calculations Mana Pool = (Spell Lvl + 1) * (Number of Spells per Day) Mana Cost per Casting = Spell Lvl + 1 Recovering Mana There is NO SUCH THING as a Mana Potion. Now, with no restrictions on the number of times per day a caster can cast his spells, by twentieth level a caster could potentially cast "Power Word Kill" or "Wail of the Banshee", or any combination of the two equalling out to 33 times within the span of 3 1/2 minutes (game time) before running out of Mana. So technically this method of magick usage is grossly unbalanced. To correct this I've decided that the only way to gain back Mana is to rest. The Mana Pool can be refilled the same way lost Hit Points can be NATURALLY regained; and as of the moment that is the ONLY way of regaining lost Mana. (1 HP per level per eight hours of undisturbed rest; or twice the level per twenty-four hours of complete bed rest.) Further, once a character has drained all their Mana, I'm going to design some stipulation on life drain and a magick coma (both ideas are still in production.) Further Changes to the Sorcerer Class Hit Die: D6 Lvl -- Special 1 -- Summon Familiar, Feat (Eschew Materials) 2 -- Feat (Endurance) 4 -- Feat (Die Hard) 5 -- Bonus Feat 10 -- Bonus Feat 15 -- Bonus Feat 20 -- Bonus Feat" This was sent in an email to me, and he is currently desining a comp. version of the Character Sheet (thats what the calculations were mainly for). |

It is, in my opinion, really balanced and thought out, and plus, the work is doen for you. (if you don't have the money to buy it, go to Barnes and Noble, sit in the cafe and copy out the three necessary charts, one is spell points/class/level, one is Bonus Spell Points, and one is Cost/spell level) I hope this helps. |
| Novacat10-31-05, 08:18 PM | I'm currently working on a mana system (a complete magic system overhaul) that is roughly based on the Psionics system. I suggest you look at that, if you haven't. |
