| Koga:The ninja trick09-06-05, 02:08 PM | The Koga is just full of inspiration today, proud of his gladiator, lord, and dark druid for a dungeoneering campaign he wants to set up, here's another melee class which has it's own brand of fighting style.. Berserker. http://www.zeldauniverse.net/images/stories/games/z2/bosses/05b-gooma.png Fluff: Part of a more primitive culture, berserks are ussualy loners or part of a large tribe where survival of the kin is key. Berserkers arenot the bloodthirsty savages most cultures would have you believe. They simply rely on the ways of the animal by means of coping with ever changing threats.. Alignment: Most tend to be chaotic. But lawful ones are not uncommon ussualy serving as the tribe's elder or motivational speaker. Hit Die d12. Class Skills The berserker’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Listen (Wis), Ride (Dex), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str). Skills at 1st level (2+Int Modifier)x4 Skills each addiotnal level: (2+Int modifer.) Weapons/Armour Profficetcy: A bersker is profficent with all simple, martial, and exotic weapons, and all shields. (Exspet for tower shields.) (Though being able to wield shields instead of light armour is a fair tradeoff and exotic weapons profficetcy is nice..) but remember, these standards were based off The Koga's other classes planned for this campaign as compared to the gladiator, lord, and dark druid which can be found in the core class compedium.. |

A bersker is profficent with all simple, martial, and exotic weapons, and all shields. (Exspet for tower shields.) Um, Koga...Barbarians have same armor and shields as a Paladin minus heavy armor. That means they get shields anyway. Basically you took okay light and meduim armor proficiency in exchange for all exotic weapons. You also took out Trap sense. Lowered Skill points and took out Alignment restriction. So benefits over Barbarian: No alignment penalty Any exotic weapon Losses: Trap sense All armor proficincies (meduim/light) Less skill points, bad as a fighter (worse because they still have to spend 2 skill points to get rid of illteracy) Aren't berserks goingto die easily with no armor? I mean Barbarians already suffer from Ac issues (but can wear a shield to help) unless they buy mithral full plate. |
| Krug_the_smasher09-06-05, 09:09 PM | yes i agree...this looks like you have stood up the barb and took an axe to the top section to lower it down to crappyness more than anyone has ever done b4. i dont want to put you down but i would take FB before this. and i would use my unlucky dice and kill everyone. |
| FlameLover09-06-05, 09:17 PM | 'A bersker is profficent with all simple, martial, and exotic weapons' This would become one SERIOUS dip-class if widley used, and has no good backing. Why should mr. un-civilized berserker here know how to wield a Spiked Chain effectivley or worse say a Kukri. It's powerful, makes no sense but as others have said the class is just too weak so even this doesn't help balance. If this works for you fine, but to me this is just hogwash. |
| Borris09-06-05, 09:18 PM | Don't forget he also got rid of uncanny dodge and improved uncanny dodge, which means that, unliek the barbarian, this berserker can lose his Dex bonus if flat-footed and that rogues can sneak attack him when flanking. |
| Wildonion09-06-05, 09:53 PM | Losing Dex will hurt. :ghosted: |
| feartheinvinceblehamster09-06-05, 09:58 PM | i like it. a psycho who can use every weapon known to man. koga, this more than makes up for your weak lord. which i hope you fix or everyone will play this baby. and where are you getting those pics? i love them |

| ragingmaro09-06-05, 10:20 PM | The Koga, it seems that a lot of the stuff you have been making just seem like NPC versions of PC classes. Was that your intent? Or are you trying to make PC classes? |
| FlameLover09-06-05, 11:30 PM | This should be made into a PrC that focuses on the 'proficient with all weapons' thing. I'd make it 5 levels and make it by level 5 you can use all weapons without penalty (maybe even only 3 level like the Hulking Hurler) Anyway i like the idea that they just swing anything madly but it isn't something I would use. I like the idea, and i'm actually gonna make that PrC :) |

| feartheinvinceblehamster09-07-05, 06:43 PM | i love this class, but it will be hard to figure out what your pcs are powerful enough to fight |
