another ranger variant [Archive] - Wizards Community

anyway what I want is to add sneak attack like a rouge and uncanny dodge and imp. uncanny dodge.

and give up spellcasting and combat style and the animal companion and wild empathy. and so my question is what levels they should get this and if this is balanced.

not quite if i wanted the rouge core class then I wouldnt have posted for a ranger variant but thanks anyway

12-30-05, 01:39 PM Well, from the sound of it you're giving up everything except full BAB, Track Endurance, and Hide in Plain Sight, for Sneak Attack, Uncanny Dodge and Improved Uncanny Dodge.

It seems to me like it might be easier to convince your DM to let you get Evasion at a higher level, and take a hit on skillpoints and lose trapsense in exchange for a full BAB. Just take Bonus Feats instead of Rogue Special abilities later(Get yourself Track and Endurance), and a dip into Shadowdancer for Hide in Plain Sight...
