| xkriolox04-08-07, 09:15 PM | I may be saying something that is already on WoC books, but they're so many and not exactly cheap, resulting in me allowing myself not to buy them and become ignorant sometimes. I think Anti-spellcaster classes are needed to restore balance. like the monk, but the problem is that the monk is not that great anti spellcaster at high levels, and may sometimes beat the fighters at melee. D&D needs the usual MMORPG balance system. (class A beats class B that beats class C that beats class A). Rogues are more like situational characters not meant to battle, so they're off the hypothetical balance system. Maybe someone, unlike me, HAS few ideas for an antispellcaster class possibly not that unbalanced P.S.: Like most of foreigns i must apologize for my english |

Maybe someone, unlike me, HAS few ideas for an antispellcaster class possibly not that unbalanced P.S.: Like most of foreigns i must apologize for my english I really don't feel these are needed; especially since regardless of how good one character is, there's always an ECL character of the same ability who can out-do them. DnD isn't necessarily meant to be a dueling system and isn't meant to always be highly powered and optimized. Its not an MMORPG because its not balanced and because its not meant to play like one. |
| xkriolox04-08-07, 09:28 PM | should there be complaints about the fighter being underpowered then? Neither I think that that D&D is suposed to be a pen and paper MMORPG, but i came up with what I think should be the solution of this neverending discussion of fighter being under powered. I think at the table you can always talk with the DM, to maybe if your character is below the level of eficiency in your party, receive some benefits. |
| Perseus_Stoned04-08-07, 09:35 PM | should there be complaints about the fighter being underpowered then? No, if you want to make the best character play the Pun-Pun build. Otherwise role-play, this isn't meant to be a PC game like Diablo 2 or WoW. And if you want to play a fighter in a highly optimized campaign, this is a great solution. Talking to the DM about what you see as unfair is always a great start to being happy with your character again. |
| Cartigan04-08-07, 09:36 PM | There's the Occult Slayer but I don't think I've seen anything else designed as any sort of counter class. |
| CheeseMan04-08-07, 10:04 PM | i'm rather in lacking in WotC books myself, so there may be something i dont know about as well, but i also think there needs to be an anti-spellcaster class or two, not because it would 'balance' the game, the game's been pretty well balanced for the past 30 some years without them. i just think an anti-spellcaster would just be a great addition to the game, just like any of the other custom classes on the board |
