karmatic_sliver 04-24-07, 01:11 AM	does anyone know some good Bard PrCs? right now im playing as a satyr bard that has a fear of using weapons... (dont ask, its all for role playing) so a class that relies on weapons isnt that great for me... any suggestions plz? thx.

karmatic_sliver 04-24-07, 01:30 AM	umm.... frostburn? either way, looking into some articles here, and i thought, hey, what if there was a class that penalized my opponents a lot, instead of helping my own? is there anything like that? better still, what do you think, should i do that or no? EDIT: found a class, dirgesinger. seems ok, dont have a copy of the LM but ill look into that. any other suggestions?
Arcane Guyver 04-24-07, 01:56 AM	There are three options I can think of off-hand. Lyric Thaumaturge (Complete Mage) - Not a big departure from the regular bard class, you just get more spells known. Sublime Chord (Complete Arcane) - You forfeit your magic for more powerful, energy-blasty songs. Seeker of the Song (Complete Arcane) - You forfeit most of your songpower for 9th-level spells.
Edea 04-24-07, 02:11 AM	You flipped the last two. And the one from Frostburn is the Stormsinger PrC. It has full spellcasting progression (a fairly common trait in that book, not often seen elsewhere) and evolves the bard's ability to control weather effects with bardic music (eventually leading to storm of vengeance). What's the LA of a saytr? LA + spellcasting class = bad, unless exceptions are being made in the campaign.
The_Shaman 04-24-07, 02:57 AM	Virtuoso: Complete Adventurer, gives more powerful bard songs, 9/10 spellcasting levels BUT can advance any arcane casting progression. Hence, you can use it to boost your sublime chord progression to get more powerful spells. I think it's your thing, all things included. Dragonsong Lyrist: Draconomicon, flavor doesn't quite fit, otherwise dragonsong is useful to any singing or oratory bard. Troubadour of Stars: BoED (exalted) powerful, but with dangerous alignment restrictions.
DwarfPcfan 04-24-07, 10:02 AM	It does seem to me like your character is pacifist. now since Satyrs have an LA of +2 with 5 fey hit dice. Not bad for an Ecl7 (8 with a single level of bard). However, you have chosen to severely hamper your most powerful features for the fun of playing a satyr. O.K so we need to focus on getting you up to speed. I would suggest you focus on a single thing rather then trying to fill teh jack of all trades aspect that has easily been taken away by (admitedly, not completely wasted) choosing satyr. Since from a flavor perspective satyrs are lustful woodland singers who frolic around chasing nymphs and dryads to have a party with. I would focus on you bardic music Here's a short list of what you should consider around themes. Prestige classes till EcL 20: The fey minstrel:Satyr Bard3/Virtuoso10 The keeper of the secret music: Bard3/Seeker of the Song10 Troubadour of Wonder:Bard3/Troubadour of Stars 10 The mystic chanter:Bard7/Sublime Cord6 In any case here are essential feats: -Requiem, allows to affect undead with music from Libris mortis -GreenSinger (can't remember the actual name), allows to affect plants, Complete divine or complete adventurer -Music of the outer spheres, kicks away aberations with bardic songs -Extra music -Lingering song (song will last 10 rounds after you stop singing) -Song from the heart (all bonuses from bardic music are at +1 of their original effects), from Eberron Campaign setting Keep these tips in mind and your satyr should more then pull his weight around..
