we started a game and since we are 8 players, we dont need to have a Cleric, Fighter, Mage, Rogue team, so we all thought about trying some weird classes and i ended up thinking about the arcane trickster.

Other than the Rogue 4 / Soceror or Wizard 1 any idea of a good build?
Rogue / Sorceror IS nice, but id like to hear about other ideas.

Thanks!

I just started on my way to arcane trickster. Right now I'm a Gnome Bard1/Rogue2/Sorcerer2. I took the rank in bard for the bardic songs and knowledge and the weapon proficiencies. And since I'm a gnome, I don't take any xp cuts. So, if you want to be a gnome consider a level in bard.

You only need rogue 3 for the +2d6 sneak attack. And IIRC you need to be able to cast lvl 3 arcane spells which is sorcerer 6 or wizard 5. Otherwise it would appear wizard 5/rogue 4 (rogue first for the skill points) is the best way to arcane trickster.

Mine is going to be

Rogue 1 (Imp Init)
Wizard 1,2,3 (Practiced Spellcaster Feat)
Rogue 2
Wizard 4,5 CWI, ?energy substitution?
Rogue 3 (max UMD)
AT 10 (Quicken Spell)

I really wouldn't recommend taking any more Rogue as you need those Caster levels (even more so if you have no other casters). Doing it with Sorceror takes an extra level and doesn't give the nice Int synergy -and Warmage is probably a better pick.

Rogue 3/Wizard 5/Arcane Trickster 10/Spellsword 1/Dragonslayer 1

Not exactly in that order.

Rogue 1/Wizard 5/Daggerspell Mage 10/Arcane Trickster X/Spellsword 1/Dragonslayer 1 only loses two caster levels instead of three. Of course qualifying for AT will be difficult without Able Learner to help with the skill ranks, but it's doable even without it. Daggerspell mage is a cooler class than AT anyway, and has fewer requirements.

As others said, Daggerspell Mage is good for the build.
But if you have less than enough feats/skills or want to play more conventional Arcane Trickster, then;
Rogue 1/Wizard 5/Spellthief 1/Arcane Trickster 10
With this, you lose only 2 lvls of spellcasting progression.

I do like either
Rogue 3/Wizard 5/Arcane Trickster 10/Spellsword 1/Dragonslayer 1 or Rogue 1/Wizard 5/Daggerspell Mage 10/Arcane Trickster X/Spellsword 1/Dragonslayer 1 but i dont understand something, how do you get the requirements of the spellsword?? all armor feat ? rogue dont give it all, wizard gives none... is it me or you have to burn a lots of feats to get that PrC.

Thanks

You also need proficieny with all martial weapons for spellsword.
Do daggerspell mage or dragonslayer grant any armor/weapon proficiencies?

The order of the classes is badly done. Dragonslayer provides the prerequisites for Spellsword.
