I'm not sure how well the min/maxing would go with this combo but has anyone tried it? They seem to work well with each other from a flavor standpoint.

Let's see: A rage machine that can go crazy in combat, and then heal his own wounds afterwards.

Oooh, scary.

Depends. I've seen a druidx/barbarian2 do great things. Rage bonuses stack w/ everything. I've seen a very sucky druid6/barbarian6 that couldn't do much of anything very well, but that was 3.0, so maybe it'd be better now.

This just came up tonight in my group, actually. We were discussing a druid in an old game who was the epitome of eco-freak; he'd become violently angry whenever he saw someone wearing any clothing made of something besides cotton (or, presumably, any other vegetation). That one didn't have levels of barbarian, but it's fun to imagine...

Ooh, ooh! You and your group should take a look at the new Nature's Warrior PrC in the Complete Warrior. Would fit right with this sort of thing.

I'm currently writing up a core class that involves combining the barbarian rage with the druid wildshape. I'm thinking of paring it down in certain ways so I can add more of my own stuff. Otherwise it would be somewhat similar to simply multiclassing. Although really it's better than straight multiclassing.
