Just curious, my friend want to play a melee type that hates undead, and I know ranger would work, I was just wondering if there are any classes that specifically hate undead.

THere are a whole slew of anti-undeada PrC's floating around. Ranger is typically a good base class to start from. OTOH for a truly heinous undead destroyer you need look no further than a high charisma cleric with the Sun domain.

Could you give me some examples of the Prc's?

Sacred Exorcist and Radiant Servant of Pelor (CD), and Hunter of the Dead (CW) all leap to mind.

Radiant Servant of Pelor from the Complete Divine. That's all you need.

The first time I read about the "Radiant Servant of Pelor" prestige class I was slightly freaked out by how similar it was to how I had created and been playing my undead-hating cleric of Pelor without ever having seen this prestige class which had apparently been in Dragon Magazine.

Essentially it WAS my character because I'd already picked all of the pre-requisites apart from only needing to reallocate 4 skill points to meet the Knowledge (Religion) requirement and as I had literally only just levelled the session before, my DM kindly let me reassign them so that I could become a Radiant Servant.

With careful choosing of turning related feats and melee combat enhancing spells, especially if you can get magical items which improve your turning abilities, this prc can be awesome when dealing with undead.

Of course, you are limited in other ways but that's the price that you pay for being a specialist.

There was an older PrC (3.0) called Doomguide or Doomwarden of Kelemvor, also check out the Morninglord of Lathander from the 3.5 guide to Faerun.

Cleric with the domains Sun, and exalted. both give +1d6 turn damage, and once per day you can destroy undead instead of turning them. Then you take the feat Exalted turning, and for your weapon, an undead bane disrupting Warhammer. Now, your turn attempts do 7d6+cha+level in damage, and they have a +2 bonus from your domains. And if you get into melee, your hammer will do 1d10+3+2d6+str in damage. Average of 14.5 damage per hit. With a +8 minimum at level 7, which is the level you could have all of this and more. That just rocks.

The Illumine Soul is pretty nice in the newly released Complete Psionic. It's based on the Soulknife, if that interests your friend.

There's another PrC in Libris Mortis (apart from Master of Radiance) that I can't think of off hand that is not altogether dissimilar from the Radiant Servant of Pelor (in fact, they get some of the same powers). It gets 4 levels of divine spellcasting in a 5-level PrC, but has some fancy positive energy abilities using turn attempts.

But I'd stick with Radiant Servant myself, or anything Paladin-derived.

Of course, bonus damage doesn't help if your turn check isn't high enough to effect your target. That's why you couple all this goodness with the Heighten Turning feat from Libris Mortis (i.e. power attack for turn attempts). Lower that damage and apply the amount as a bonus to your initial turn check. Good for when you've got one big nasty undead instead of lots of little ones.

Anyone know anything about the Deadgrim? I've heard that it's a specialist in hunting undead, but gradually becomes undead herself in the process. I think it's from Magic of Eberron. Anyone know much about this PrC?

The Glory domain also helps. Adds +2 to the rolled check and +1d6 to the turn damage.
