I don't know such a paladin but I guess it would be quite easy to make out one... Jsut modify few of the abilities and that's it...

IF you're a neutral paladin of nature, i suppose this would your character would pray to Obad-Hai...
Here what you can do with some abilities...

Aura of good --> Since you're neutral, you cannot really have an aura... so just remove it.. anyway, it's not a real benefit...

Detect Evil --> Maybe "Detect Lifeform" but useful only in natural terrain... or something like "Detect Abberation and Undead" since their mere presence is unatural...

Smite Evil --> "Smite Lifeform" or "Smite Abberation/Undead".. see detect evil...

Divine grace --> Nature's grace... same ability with different name...

Divine Health --> Stay the same.. i guess it coulds apply as well...

Aura of Courage --> I don't see why the nature paladin would have this... maybe go with something like Woodland Stride like the druid and ranger...

Turn Undead --> Humm.... can't tell really... guess it's ok as well since undead is the enemy of nature... maybe being able to turn abberation as well.... ???

Special Mount --> Could be the same thing...

Remove Disease --> Same thing...

Spells: I'd say go with the ranger spell maybe... but replace spells that invole to be stealthy or shooting arrows with spells (druid or cleric) that could affect undead and make them to affect abberation...

Other abilities you could try to fit in... Maybe something like Treewalk Spelllike ability... or by high level, maybe a fast healing of a regeneration.... (since nature is tough can heals itself) a damage reduction maybe... (To represent the hardness of trees and rocks)... Maybe you could acquired a new creature lype like plant.... or Fey.. like the monk gets outsider(Native)...
To put this ability, you could remove your remove disease and smite to make place for other class features...

But personally, I think that a Paladin should not be ma "Knight of Nature"... I just do see it fit in... I mena, you already have the ranger and the druid... which are the Fighter of nature and the spellcaster of nature...

Plus, the traditional image of the paladin is the valiant knight in platemail, wearing a kite shield and an holy longsword on is heavy armored horse... but the characters of nature (Ranger, druid and we could include the barbarian) stick with light armor for best mouvement... the druid cannot even wear metal armors... So if you try to fit the paladin there, to class would be so much different that the normal paladin that yould should create a class all by yourself instead of modifiying one...

You're best bet is probably to play up the defender of nature aspect of the Ranger. If you want something more divine-like, Complete Champion has a PrC called Sanctified One designed to represent champions of Gods that aren't adequately represented by the Paladin, including Elohana. There's also the Nature's Warrior from Complete Warrior, though it may inherently depend on Wild Shape (I'm AFB at the moment).

Paladins are defenders of the Chuch and have radical alignments because of it. the LG Paladin is one that defends the people while a CE Paladin is someone that thinks only the strongest should survive. A Paladin that defends nature is a ranger or a druid that is very protective of all that nature encompases, which is a lot.

Perhaps "Paladin" is not really the correct image....

I'm looking to build a very 'martial" Druid type (that does not use wild shape to achieve melee greatness).

The character is a female Killoren (playing in Dragonlance setting) and favors the "destroyer" aspect.

So far I am looking at a build that goes
2 levels of Monk...followed by
3 levels of the "variant" Druid from Hypertext D20 that substitutes monk AC bonus, favored enemy, Fast movement, & Swift tracker for "Wild Shape".

Just wasn't sure if there was a "nature" type, Melee focused base class or PrC (other than Ranger) that I should look into.

Dragon 310 includes a paladin variant known as the incarnate (not to be confused with the incarnum class). You can also find it on crystalkeep. It is a true neutral, nature-based class. It replaces detect evil with detect imbalance (anything with any alignment subtype), smite evil with smite extremist (doesn't have a neutral alignment component), and an elemental in place of a mount. Each also devotes him/her self to two opposed elements: fire and water or earth and air, getting a few benefits associated with both. Personally I think a homebrew could do it better, though I like the dedication to opposed elements. You shouldn't give up healing for comparable damage. It's not much. Not worth it.

Though the class doesn't get a lot of respect...but look at the Divine Mind in the Complete Psi. Use mantles of "Natural World" and possibly "Elements".

I just remembered another possibility. The Metamorphic Adept (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=851199). I love it. It'd be a lot like the wildshaping monk without the clumsiness of the wildshaping mechanic.

We call what you are looking for a "Ranger".:P Change the bonus weapon feat chain to whatevr you feel fits (unarmed?), and you are good to go.

The incarnate is imo your best bet for a TN character, although with some fluffing you can make a TN pious templar or crusader do just as well. For a nature-y do-gooder, the Lion of Talisid (BoED) is a stable combatant, and exalted characters can match a paladin whenever virtue is concerned.

Just found this, but you could easily pull it off with a Druidic Avenger if you want from Unearthed Arcana

You could use the paladin variant on p58 of the Unearthed Arcana. You make his might work on anything CG, CE, LG, LE. Give her ranger spells. Alignment NN only. Change class skills around a little. But kinda sucks losing remove disease and lay on hands. A nature paladin might be missing something without them.

a few suggestions

Detect Mockery: This is identical to the detect undead spell, but detects Undead, Aberrations, Constructs, and Oozes

Smite Mockery: This is identical to smite evil, except it smites Undead, Aberrations, Constructs, and Oozes

Alternate Form: This replaces the special mount ability of the paladin at 5th level. You choose any animal whose Hit dice do not exceed your own. You may change into that animal 3 times per day for as long as you choose to remain transformed. Changing to or from your animal form is a full round action. Whenever you gain a level, you may choose to change your animal form, but it must still have HD equal to or less than your own. This functions as the alternate form ability in all other ways.

I second the Ranger idea ...
