So, you're going to be looking for a charisma based caster, but certainly not a full caster, who can be a tyrant? The best thing I can think of is a weird, ineffective multiclass combination of the variant Expert and Spellthief. Take the expert NPC class. Bump its HD to d8s. Give it bonus feats at the same progression as a fighter, except that he can choose any feats he wants. Pick up some of the Spell Hand, Soul of the North, and Night Haunt feats to have a little innate magical talent, and then grab a few levels of Spellthief for a little more rogue-y stage magician type stuff. Maybe so something like "Super Expert" 2/Spellthief X/Thief Acrobat? |

None of that has to do with mechanics except for maybe taking some slight of hand and bluff for "stage" magic. I'm sure you could fill that role you described with a first level kobold expert with a decent charisma. Perhaps just replace kobold with human? Fluff doesn't have to do with the mechanics behind the character. (NPC?) But simply put, bard would be the best mechanics fit since it can cover what you apparently want. |
