Arcane Brawler Hit Die d6 Spell Progression as Sorcerer with spells restricted to range of personal, self, touch, or 0ft |Lvl|Bab | F | R | W | |1) | +0 | +0 | +0 | +2 | Unarmed 1d4 | Elemental Damage, elemental affinity, Familiar | |2) | +1 | +0 | +0 | +3 | Unarmed 1d4 | Evasion | |3) | +2 | +1 | +1 | +3 | Unarmed 1d6 | | |4) | +3 | +1 | +1 | +4 | Unarmed 1d6 | Charisma to attack| |5) | +3 | +1 | +1 | +4 | Unarmed 1d6 | | |6) | +4 | +2 | +2 | +5| Unarmed 1d6 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |7) | +5 | +2 | +2 | +5 | Unarmed 1d8 | | |8) | +6/+1 | +2 | +2 | +6 | Unarmed 1d8 | Haste | |9) | +6/+1 | +3 | +3 | +6 | Unarmed 1d8 | | |10)| +7/+2| +3 | +3 | +7 | Unarmed 1d8 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |11)| +8/+3 | +3 | +3 | +7 | Unarmed 1d10 | | |12)| +9/+4 | +4 | +4 | +8 | Unarmed 1d10 | Affinity Resistance | |13)|+9/+4 | +4 | +4 | +8 | Unarmed 1d10 | | |14)|+10/+5| +4 | +4 | +9 | Unarmed 1d10 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |15)|+11/+6/+1| +5 | +5 | +9 | Unarmed 1d10 | | |16)|+12/+7/+2 | +5 | +5 |+10 | Unarmed 1d12 | | |17)| +12/+7/+2 | +5 | +5 |+10 | Unarmed 1d12 | | |18)| +13/+8/+3 | +6 | +6 | +11 | Unarmed 1d12 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |19)| +14/+9/+4 | +6 | +6 | +11 | Unarmed 1d12 | | |20)| +15/+10/+5| +6 | +6 | +12 | Unarmed 1d12 | | [/table] Note: For any ability requiring spell sacrifice no two spells of the same spell level can be used in the same round. Evasion: An Arcane Brawler can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If a Arcane Brawler makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save (such as a red dragon’s fiery breath or a fireball), the Arcane Brawler instead takes no damage. Evasion can only be used if the Arcane Brawler is wearing light armor or no armor. It is an extraordinary ability. Affinity Damage: Starting at 1st level the arcane brawler can, as a free action, sacrifice any spell to give him a damage bonus equal to 1d6/level of spell sacrificed, discharged/dismissed at will, on his next successful attack. Damage can be held for 1 minute/level of spell sacrificed. This ability can only be used to a maximum of once per attack. (This is a spell-like ability) Elemental Affinity: at level one the arcane brawler chooses one element that will determine the type of damage incurred by the Spell sac ability. Earth: Acid Fire: Fire Water: Cold Air: Electricity Charisma to attack: starting at level 4, as a free action, the arcane brawler may sacrifice a spell to gain an attack bonus equal to his charisma modifier for a number of rounds equal to the level of spell sacrificed. This is an enhancement bonus. (This is a spell-like ability) Haste: at 8th level the arcane brawler can gains Haste as per the spell for a number of rounds equal to 5+ Charisma modifier per day. (This is an extraordinary ability) Convert spell: at level 6 the arcane brawler gains one spell to his known spells that is any spell of 3rd level or higher based on the characters ability to cast the spell. The range of this spell is converted to touch. This happens again at levels 10, 14, and 18 (This is a spell-like ability) Affinity Resistance: At level 12 the arcane brawler gains the resistance to damage of the element of his affinity equal to his charisma modifier. |
| Leress07-04-07, 10:03 PM | Let me know what you think. I want to put a cap ability at twenty but I don't have any ideas. Okay I will Arcane Brawler Hit Die d6 that is pretty low hit die for a front liner Spell Progression as Sorcerer with spells restricted to range of personal, self, touch, or 0ft um...okay |Lvl|Bab | F | R | W | |1) | +0 | +0 | +0 | +2 | Unarmed 1d4 | Elemental Damage, elemental affinity, Familiar | |2) | +1 | +0 | +0 | +3 | Unarmed 1d4 | Evasion | |3) | +2 | +1 | +1 | +3 | Unarmed 1d6 | | |4) | +3 | +1 | +1 | +4 | Unarmed 1d6 | Charisma to attack| |5) | +3 | +1 | +1 | +4 | Unarmed 1d6 | | |6) | +4 | +2 | +2 | +5| Unarmed 1d6 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |7) | +5 | +2 | +2 | +5 | Unarmed 1d8 | | |8) | +6/+1 | +2 | +2 | +6 | Unarmed 1d8 | Haste | |9) | +6/+1 | +3 | +3 | +6 | Unarmed 1d8 | | |10)| +7/+2| +3 | +3 | +7 | Unarmed 1d8 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |11)| +8/+3 | +3 | +3 | +7 | Unarmed 1d10 | | |12)| +9/+4 | +4 | +4 | +8 | Unarmed 1d10 | Affinity Resistance | |13)|+9/+4 | +4 | +4 | +8 | Unarmed 1d10 | | |14)|+10/+5| +4 | +4 | +9 | Unarmed 1d10 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |15)|+11/+6/+1| +5 | +5 | +9 | Unarmed 1d10 | | |16)|+12/+7/+2 | +5 | +5 |+10 | Unarmed 1d12 | | |17)| +12/+7/+2 | +5 | +5 |+10 | Unarmed 1d12 | | |18)| +13/+8/+3 | +6 | +6 | +11 | Unarmed 1d12 | Convert spell in addition 3rd lvl | |19)| +14/+9/+4 | +6 | +6 | +11 | Unarmed 1d12 | | |20)| +15/+10/+5| +6 | +6 | +12 | Unarmed 1d12 | | Okay...there is not much to it. Why does this class have poor reflex and medium BAB? Note: For any ability requiring spell sacrifice no two spells of the same spell level can be used in the same round. What?? Why? That severely undermines the use of the ability to boost damage. Then why does this class get a poor reflex save? Affinity Damage: Starting at 1st level the arcane brawler can, as a free action, sacrifice any spell to give him a damage bonus equal to 1d6/level of spell sacrificed, discharged/dismissed at will, on his next successful attack. Damage can be held for 1 minute/level of spell sacrificed. This ability can only be used to a maximum of once per attack. (This is a spell-like ability) I rather use Arcane Strike feat since it gives a bonus to hit as well, and that feat is really that good. This class has a medium BAB and not much else Elemental Affinity: at level one the arcane brawler chooses one element that will determine the type of damage incurred by the Spell sac ability. Earth: Acid Fire: Fire Water: Cold Air: Electricity This will do more harm than good. Most would choose Earth because it is the least resisted of the energy types Charisma to attack: starting at level 4, as a free action, the arcane brawler may sacrifice a spell to gain an attack bonus equal to his charisma modifier for a number of rounds equal to the level of spell sacrificed. This is an enhancement bonus. (This is a spell-like ability) What if the spell is a cantrip? Haste: at 8th level the arcane brawler can gains Haste as per the spell for a number of rounds equal to 5+ Charisma modifier per day. (This is an extraordinary ability) Okay first this is not an extraordinary ability you are mimicking a spell that is more spell like. I already have has as a spell in my spells known so why give this ability. Convert spell: at level 6 the arcane brawler gains one spell to his known spells that is any spell of 3rd level or higher based on the characters ability to cast the spell. The range of this spell is converted to touch. This happens again at levels 10, 14, and 18 (This is a spell-like ability) Okay this is very poorly worded. Affinity Resistance: At level 12 the arcane brawler gains the resistance to damage of the element of his affinity equal to his charisma modifier. At that level the resistance you have is worth anything. This class has no proficiency in anything since it wasn't placed on the write up. The spell is list is way too limiting and this class can melee because it lacks the AC (since even if the class could were armor, spellcasting would be compromised.) The hit die is too low for melee. What is the skill list for this class and how many skill points does it get? Please finish the rest of this class, because it is not looking to good at the moment. |
