I vaguely remember a PRC that allowed mages to heal. But can't recall its name or which book/supplement it was in. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

You don't even need a PrC, a feat will do the trick. Grizzled Gryphon, I believe it was, made an interesting post in a thread of mine awhile ago with this idea. There's a feat in Complete Divine that allows you to add a single cleric domain to your list of spells known; simply take the Healing domain and you're golden. (He used warmage, btw. IMO this trick is most effective with warmage or sorceror)

So would that let a sorcerer use divine-user only magic items? Like a want of healing for example?

Wands of cure x wound aren't divine only. Bards can use them. Wands will allow you to use them if the spell is on your spell list. If you have the healing domain, then you have all of the cure spells. So yes, you could use the wand. It would not allow you to use other wands that have a similar effect like faith healing. Good gaming.

Just re-read the wand section. So thats it on the nose! Thanks.

The feat is named Arcane Disciple. It's on plage 79 of the Complete Divine. It does grant the ability to cast healing spells, but you have to select them as domain spells and you're limited to one per day per level.

The biggest benefit is that it gives you the ablity to use wands that cast cure spells.

Thats the main reason the player wants the feat for. The party is fairly reliant on healing wands and they wanted someone else apart from the cleric to be able to wield them. Thanks.

ehhh... you know you are playing a FANTASY game where gnomes with hammers as big as motorcycles can use them to kill blue giants as big as houses? Right? RIGHT?

You should have played at least up until VI. VII is where it starts becoming questionable, and X-2 is where it starts becoming inane. IV was the best in the series, but VI was alright too.

Also, using "gay" as a pejorative is offensive and in poor taste. It implies by association that there is something wrong with a significant portion of the population who go by the same label, when they deserve the same respect as anybody else. Learn some manners.

Arcane Disciple is a good way to get the spells. Also, while page 20 of Complete Divine cuts the usefulness of the feat down by about 3/4, you can also take those healing spells and learn them. Then you're not limited to 1/day casting based on wisdom (which for an arcanist might not be such a great stat).

Another method would be to pick one or two really nice healing spells and just using Extra Spell (Complete Arcane, pg ??) to learn it. Generally I have my Sorcerers take Extra Spell (Heal) as a 15th level feat if I don't have something else planned.

Alternately one could take all 10 levels of Rainbow Servant (I do NOT suggest this) and learn curative spells normally at some point thereafter. [Note: A Sorcerer would finish RS at 16th level, minimum. A Wizard, 15th.]

You know, I get onto people for doing the same thing. It's just a habit I'm not yet close to breaking, my apologies. It's sort of like trying to stop chewing your nails.

I never beat six, and I personally liked five. Wasn't four the one where you started off at the Air Ship captain, or on the airship. Or whatever, the was air ships in the beggining

I hated all the FF games except for X. In fact I dont like many Japanese RPGs at all. They are all laborously long and tedious.

Bah. People are hypersensitive today and its annoying. Gay is used by a *whole* subculture of people (gamers and the like). They certainly outnumber homosexuals so I could easily argue you are being bias against these people.

It all gets silly really.

Arcane Disciple works.

Bard gets healing spells too...

Extra Spell can be used, if your DM allows it.

Everyne can go Tomb-Tainted and your Dread Necromancer could heal by infliction.

Recaster PrC if you are Changeling and Arcane. Just select Heal as one of your two spells that you learn that come from any list.

And there are whole cultures, nevermind subcultures, who use racist, sexist, etc, terms. There are also a large number of people around the world who think that 9/11 was a good thing. Likewise for hurricane Katrina, or even the Holocaust. By your reasoning, it would be biased to say these things are wrong.

And I find it amusing how people call others "hypersensitive", yet they get twisted into knots when people ask them not to be offensive.

Either Arcane Disciple *or* Extra Spell (Cure Light Wounds off Bard list). Then take Spontanious Helaer. Your Arcane Caster can now sub out his spells for Cure X Wounds just like a Cleric can.

After that to get Heal, either take Extra Spell again (5th level spell on the Adept list or 6th level elsewhere) *or* take 5 levels of Combat Medic in Heroes of Battle.

Vola. Healer Mage.

I am not bent out of shape. I wasnt the person who used "gay". Its this BS "culture of tolereance" and PC stuff that annoys me. But thats not really an argument for here.

Thanks for all the replies. Where is "Rainbow Servant" from?

Complete Divine, IIRC.

Rainbow Servant level 10, adds the entire cleric spell list to your spells knownActually it allows you to choose spells off the cleric list. It never makes the cleric spell list your class list, nor does it hand you any spells for free. That's why in my earlier post I didn't recommend the class.

There's also Simbul's Synestodweomer (now just Synestodweomer), lets you sacrifice spell slots for healing...I might have spelled it wrong, though...it's in FRCS and Spell Compendium.

The only issue I have with it is that it's a high-level spell (7-9 IIRC), and in order to use it one must first cast the spell then sacrifice another spell slot in order to heal xd8 damage (where x is the level of the slot sacrificed). I think it would idealy be given to the sorcerer since they'd be more likely to have the expendable slots.

I did forget that the Heal spell was 5th level for Adepts so it's possible for a sorcerer or wizard to use Extra Spell for it at 12th level (DM allowing of course).

ok, a few things, one, all the d&d related stuff is good, and a few prc give you healing, sorry dont know their names. if in ferune, spellfire

2, their are entire boards on ff1-103892356, go talk about them there

and 3, "gay" is only insulting because we interperet it that way, it is a way of living, so technicaly, by having a negative view on being called gay ,we are being prejiduce.
if you call a homosexual gay, its a fact, if you call a heterosexual gay, its hell on earth. :uh-huh: :uh-huh: :uh-huh:
ok...
stop argueing

p.s. im 16, so to the (and im guessing) 30 year old person who started the whole gay arguement, you got beat by someone 1/2 your age. also to the guy making the gay coment, i dont support it, but very good of you to appologise.

Brackets just for the generic.

Oh, and by the way, Extra Spell Capacity from CArc.

Light of Venya used to be a good option before spell compendium. Third level Cleric and Sor/Wiz, it used to do two uses of either damage or 3d6 healing to living, non-evil creatures. Now its healing is only d6+divine caster level. (Still two uses).
