| Marshall04-12-06, 02:56 PM | I have a query...Does the Arcane Heiros Companion Familiar still get to share saves and skills with the with PC? The writeup says you use the Companions base skills and saves instead of the familiars. OK, I read that as using the stats for a Tiger instead of a cat BUT I still have the option of using the PCs base save or skill ranks if they are better. Which is it? |

But that does not mean if you have Lore: arcana and your familiar doesn't, it would not be able to use that skill. But if you both had sneak and your skill was higher it would use your experience on that one. I think that is what you are getting at... |

An Arcane Heirophant(RoW) has a "companion familiar". IOW, his Animal Companion is his familiar, also. The rules state that the CF uses the saves and skills of the animal companion. Thats pretty clear, you use the Base saves and skill list/ranks of a 6HD Tiger instead of a 1/4 HD cat. The question is, does the rest of the familiars description still apply? Do you still get to compare those base saves to the masters and choose the greater? Does the companion still get to use the masters skill ranks? |
