It is the best dual casting prc yet... for two reasons. It has better numbers (BaB, hit points) and it has class abilities... actually I should say it has three. One of the 'halves' is usually druid. And druids are just about always full of six ways to kick butt.

Edit: I forgot about the fochlucan lyrist. Mechanically it is stronger... but it takes more to get in... so yeah.

i have heard alot of people saying that its weak.. =/
i cant see why,( saying that you would go wizard/druid/AH )you get full casting in both wizard and druid, AH and druid lvls stack for wild shape, you can cast arcane spells in druid armor without spell failure and the animal companion is awsome. And the channel plant and animal abilities are not so bad..
so what is weak about it?

It's good. Combined with MT, you can get level 9 spells in both divine and arcane. Again, it's one of those things where you trade power for versistility. As with all dual advancement classes, it doesn't get very good until level 10 or so.

It suffers from the problem of most dual casting classes... It delays access to spells. And in the case of which base classes you're combining, it suffers from MAD a little. But if you tinker with race, feats, and some substitution levels a bit... and prc a little more, it's easily a strong class...

Druid 3/Wizard 3/Mystic Theurge 2/Arcane Hierophant 10/Mytic Theurge 2

You have to split your attention between wisdom and intelligence, but wildshape makes most of your other stats unimportant... with natural spell + wildshape you've got a free polymorph effect that's always useful, and you can use your spells to buff yourself and your fairly sturdy familiar companion... you've got access to a good deal of highly useful spells. This is without doing any research into things that will add more synergy...

If you do the prc dance with things like green whisperer, sublime chord, and fochlucan lyrist... you can get all kinds of abilities out of a druid/arcane character. I usually prefer simpler combinations, but arcane hierophant can be very powerful.

Edit: Empiro beat me to it... **** slow computer.

why take MT? why not go AH all the way?
with arcane hireophant you get a lvl in arcane & divine spells, and
the class abilities..
with MT you just get the spells

4 Levels of Mystic Theurge get you another 4 levels of dual progression. Without it you'd have to pick one or the other to get 9th level spells.

It only has 10 levels, so you have to fill it out with another class. If you're wondering why 2 levels of MT come before the 2 for AH, it's because of the BAB +4 requirement of the class.
