Arcane order? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-12-05, 11:41 AM Thanks for looking i have a question...Whats your opinion on the prestige class Mage of the Arcane Order!! I have a 5th level gnome wizard that i would like to prestige with and was wondering if anybody had and thoughts or suggestions. Thanks once again :D

10-12-05, 12:47 PM Its not bad. You sort of waste a feat to get in (not a fan of cooperative spell) but you get bonus feats. The rest of the requirements are either token (money) or things youd have anyway (ranks in spellcraft or arcana? cant recall for sure.)

So, unless you wanted to use your bonus feats on item creation or spell mastery, it costs very little to join and you lose even less by joining.

You get a great deal of flexibility in casting from the spell-pool, and a couple of bonus spells. For a wizard, it is worth it I think.

10-12-05, 01:00 PM The Mage of the Arcane Order is pretty nice, but I'm a bigger fan of the Geometer! It IS GREATNESS!! :king: Then go into Arcane Order afterwards...

10-12-05, 01:14 PM yeah that coop feat seems trivial, But hey the benefits outweigh the prereq's for this class i just picked up arcana and it seems very good with few drawbacks....Thanks guys for the input

10-12-05, 02:33 PM Personally, it's my favorite Arcane PrC. But I'm a big fan of being very flexible, and it allows that quite a bit. Plus, if you have any item creation feats you can always pick up a ring of spellstoring or two, and use those for spells required to make items, that you may or may not want to spend the time/money on to put in your spellbook. :)
