Please let me know what you think of this class, purely from a balance/playability standpoint. The flavor and reasons for using this class are campaign specific, so anything offering different class/PrC options to simulate this class are not especially helpful. The class name is a working title for now.

Weapon and Armor: All Simple weapons. Light armor, no shields.
HD: d6
Skills: 6+Int/lvl
Class Skills: Balance, Bluff, Climb, Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Disable Device, Disguise, Escape Artist, Forgery, Hide, Intimidate, Jump, Knowledge (Arcana), Listen, Move Silently, Open Lock, Search, Sleight of Hand, Spellcraft, Spot, Swim, Tumble, Use Magic Device, Use Rope

As best I can tell, it's a slightly above par class. In terms of spellcasting, it is inferior to a primary caster and in terms of combat, it is inferior to the rogue it is based on. HOWEVER, it does better at using support casting than a Ranger/Paladin would and makes up for low attack bonus with having many touch attack spells available, but few spells per day (encouraging the mix of spellcasting and standard combat).

Any feedback you can offer would be great. This is the second incarnation of this build so far, and quick feedback would help, because I have a player looking to use a build along these lines for this week's game on Sunday.

I think what you want is a Beguiler. See the PHBII. Really it's everything you have, except give up sneak attack for a feinting-spell type ability, and gain full casting with access to prety much all enchantment/illusion spells that you care to know.

Actually, let me rephrase quickly about that as to WHY beguiler isn't what I want... This isn't designed as a charismatic/talking class. The specific holes it is filling are Trapfinding, Stealth and Arcane Damage. Progression for spells are as a bard, but that's about the end of the similarities. Looking at the skill list, you'll notice that most of the interaction based skills have been removed (Diplomacy, Gather Information, Sense Motive) leaving Bluff (for feignting) and Intimidate. For the time being, Disguise and Forgery remain for the infiltration aspect, but those are the next two skills on the cutting block.

Definately appreciate the thought though, and Beguiler is a class that was considered, but it lacks a few of the key needs of the group/campaign.
