Do this:

Take one Spirit Shaman.
Remove the name.
Change casting to Arcane.
Change spell list to Sor/Wiz based.
Change casting stats to Cha (power) and Int (Posibility), or just to Cha.
Tell me what chances may, should or need to be done to make this balanced and posses it's own flavour ;)

Thanks for cooperation :D

I'd need to look up the Spirit Shaman agian but unless I'm off the basic adaptation is such:

Take the basic Sorcerer but give them a limited ability to change their known spells daily.

My limitation is giving them a wizard's spellbook and allowing them to swap spells with it. Cha determines casting power but Int helps determine what spells go in the spellbook. If combining the Wizard and Sorcerer classes I've always felt that this was the fairest method of doing so.

Give them a staff as a familiar (see Dragon Magizine), which when used in spell casting gives them Escew Material Compents. This is meant to be taken with the advise from the person right above me. I think that is how the wizard should have been all along.
