I was looking through the PrC and at the Spellthief class, the two at first looked like the perfect choice, but they aren't. They seem to be aimed at doing the exact same thing.

IMO the AT is just a hybrid rogue/caster PrC. I think it works okay with wizards, but due to the requirement for at least 2d6 SA and lvl 3 spells it might be wise to get another PrC before that.

Yes, they are both casters/rogue types, but the same thing?...no.

A Spellthief is exactly that...a spell thief. I actually think this is one of the most original and interesting class concepts ever (along with Warlock). They are very similar to rogues, but significantly different.
