Does anyone see any balance issue with changing the Arcane Trickter's prerequasits (really big sp.) from "Able to cast 3rd lvl arcane spells" to "Arcane Caster Level 5" (mainly because i was looking to make a warlock/rogue/arcane trickster)?

that's largely up to your DM, but as a DM, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
The worst I might do is bump the caster level requirement to 6th (the same level as when a sorcerer would qualify) but either way, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
But again, it's up to your DM more than anyone else.

I was thinking the same thing myself, though it would be particularly more effective than the normal wizardly version (since sneak attack adds to eldritch blast, and now you have them both increasing at the same time).

You'd also have to find something comparable to the mage hand requirement, which is the basis for (I assume) the Ranged Legerdemain powers, and whatnot.

Although I am a fan of changing spell level requirement to caster level requirements, not only for warlocks, but because it helps sorcerers, too.

Yeah, it brings sorcerors in too early as mentioned, and of course, Practiced Spellcaster. Want a warlock in, then require something equivalent to 3rd level spells, not 5th level of casting.

Maybe Concentration 8 or 9 ranks as a start, or four invocations known, or [probably the best for warlocks] ability to cast a lesser invocation, or an eldritch blast dice minimum.

Too early?

I think it's great that PrCs are changing over to the "arcane caster level" requirement. It's one fewer thing the wizard gets to hose the sorcerer on.

Forgot about that pesky requirement. *Devises a way to get around it*

AHA!!

ability to cast a lesser invocation

I am too good :P

and maybe give them the invocation Hand of Darkness (mage hand) as a least invocation insead of the first ranged legintherimne (or however the :censored: you spell it)

Thanks for the help

Don't have my books with me, but wasn't there a feat from Complete Arcane that allowed you to cast mage hand daily?
