Blah Blah monks suck yadda yadda yadda... (If you don't like Monks, don't fingerstir my lemonade here please.)

Now that that's out of the way. Has anyone tried the Arcanopath Monk Prc from Dragon?
(A quick googling will turn up the class for those not familiar with it.)

How did it play out? Any tips, Tricks?

I'm starting to play in a OA campaign as a Beastman Monk. (Beastman is a LA2 race from Blackmoor.) He has a 24 Str and a 16 Wis. All level advancement points are going to Wis to up his Arcanopath DC's

This character HATES arcane casters and distrusts arcane based magic items. He won't wear/use anything that's not divine based. I seriously looked at VoP but I couldn't afford the 2 feats to get it. I know I'm gimping him a bit, but that's the character concept. With a Wu Jen in the party, it should make an interesting campaign. :)

With Improved Natural Attack and Superior Unarmed he should be doing 4d8 +Str per hit by lvl16.

I'm debating Flurry of Blows vs. Decisive Strike. So far I'm leaning towards the latter. Any thoughts on that?

Would Improved Crit: Unarmed be worth it?

as the monks unarmed damage doesn't progress after 20...
i seriously DONT think you should take Superior unarmed strike.
Its nice. till like lvl 16, when it maxes. from there out its a waste of a feat...
and at level 20, it literally does nothing.

monks belt is better, as its sortof a similar thing.
If youre NOT a monk, its nice to ahve Sup.Unarmed Strike, and a Monks belt.

But since youre a Monk, and dislike arcane magic...
DONT USE EITHER.

I see what you mean by it being useless after 20.

My DM usually allows feat re-training so I'll probably take it and just re-train into something more useful after that.
